Change your Vantage Point

  1. Look forward

  2. Look up to where you are going (motivation/inspiration)

  3. Look down to see where you have come from (progress)

  4. Our thought patterns, language, internal dialogue

Here are a few tips that can help when experiencing growth and change in your life. Changing your vantage point can provide incredible insights into your life and where you are heading.

  1. Looking Forward

This vantage point keeps you on the same plane, same path and navigating the events coming in daily life. There are people and circumstances in your life that are meant to be there to help in your growth journey. You can be discouraged at times when it feels like things are moving too slow or simply not going your way. We can get stuck, stall out, or become complacent but sometimes you need to have a giddy up and go attitude.

  2. Looking Up

When we change our vantage point and start to look up. Look up to people who are on the next level. Those who exhibit the traits you admire and want in your own life. Spend time with others that are living the life you desire. Learn, be mentored, challenge yourself to take the next step up. Elevate your life by changing your vantage point. When you reach the next step, continue to elevate your vantage point. Aim high, be bold, there is no harm in reaching higher and fulfilling your goals and dreams. Look up for inspiration and find motivation in the upward climb.

  3. Looking down

When you are able to look down from the new ground you have claimed, it can be an encouraging exercise. You are aware of what you have come through to reach this next step. Look down or back only to be encouraged by seeing how far you have come. Progress that has been made. The successful, small steps or the great leaps that have been taken to propel you further towards your goals and accomplishments. Don’t fear the past or the hard things- this is direct evidence that you are capable of all things. The tough things that come up in our life bring opportunity to build character, integrity, and strength. The incredible building blocks that enable us to step up into the life we are working hard to achieve. Looking down truly shows fortitude and motivates one to keep elevating their vantage point.

  4. Internal dialogue and mindset

Our ego plays a critical role in our internal dialogue. Our thought patterns, mindsets, values, and beliefs impact our perceptions on how we are doing and can obscure our vision no matter our vantage point. When you know who you are and your purpose in life, it penetrates deeply into your being. Seriously, when you know, you know. If you allow ego to rise up then competition, comparison, and doubt can come out and hinder growth. This is why it is important to observe your thoughts, words, and actions. Setting daily intentions directs the path your day will take, what is put out in the universe is what will be manifested. When our words speak life, hope, grace, and peace: it is transformational. Speak positive words over your life through affirmations, mantras, prayers, and meditation. The more you speak it, the more it becomes your reality.
